Fell's Second CD "Incoherent Lullabies" Out Now!
On their second album, Denver, Colorado outfit Fell have planted a flag at the intersection point of post-rock, dream-pop and psychedelia, and claimed this unique place in the music continuum as their own. They have done this without expensive studios, name producers or extravagant budgets just a dedication to achieving sublime sonics, and a recognition of a very important guiding principle: "it's the song…stupid". The dark, post-Joy Division, post Disintegration-era Cure tonalities of their debut have been replaced by a shimmering, gorgeously-melodic trips that recall the more blissed out moments of bands like The Telescopes, as well as the space-pop of driving force Josh Wambeke's earlier project Phineas Gage. It's now in stores, and as always available to mail order, detailed information here. Links to a free MP3 download track here. (16 Aug 09).

Green Pajamas "Hidden Minutes" LP Out Now.
An LP only compilation of odds'n'sods that seemed to beg to be brought together into neat package for fans of Jeff Kelly's fertile song-writing imagination and psych-pop recording stylings. Various singles that had been made available on the internet only needed a place on the "permanent record", and as Jeff's says "I had a double album's worth of stuff that didn't really go together all that great. I've had the 'album' tracks for a new release and then a whole other batch of songs that sound more like singles". So here you have it, a virtual cornucopia of tracks that in an ideal world would be spinning out of your car radio in classic 7" fashion.. You can order it using the main ordering page here (or use the button to the right on this page). Detailed information here. Links to a free MP3 download track here. (24 Mar 09).

United Bible Studies CD "The Jonah" Out Now.
A cornucopia of sonic delights, traversing the spectrum from delicate folk to sprawling progressive rock. Richard Youngs' progressive rock project Ilk provided the impetus for the band to make a "Prog Album" so they started with the everything-but-the-kitchen- sink opus "The Jonah". Running the gamut from delicate acoustic guitar to Sunn 0))) style doom metal & back again, it's an extraordinary feat of the imagination. Around this central track, a range of shorter tracks orbit, typically acoustic or folk-rock in nature with occasional experimental flourishes, they are characterized by glorious melodies & arrangements and a peerless array of guests. Current 93 contributor Richard Moult provides synth & very David Tibet like vocals to opener "The Swallowing", and help out with the space folk piece "A for Andromeda". Ex Mellow Candle singer Allison O'Donnell provides vocals for several tracks, as does Sharron Kraus. You can order it using the main ordering page here (or use the button to the right on this page). Detailed information here. Links to MP3s here. (04 Mar 09).

New Black Sun Ensemble CD "Across the Sea of Id.." Out Now.
20 years down the track from their debut and the Black Sun Ensemble have come full circle, presenting a pristine, wholly instrumental and semi-acoustic work that recalls their legendary LP debut. After recording over three hours of material for Across the Sea of Id: The Way to Eden, BSE chose songs that created a rich blend of past and new works. The material ranges from not only engaging retellings of early pieces like the majestic Blues for Rainer and a definitive version of the medley Sky Pilot Suite, but also offers a trance-inspired version of St. Cecilia and a more subdued Baphomet’s Curse from "Bolt of Apollo". However, it is the new material that offers a singular, dreamy vision of BSE’s potentially final work. The two title tracks, Across the Sea of Id and Eden Song, are reflective, yet hallucinatory explorations into Acedo’s unique compositional and melodic sensibility. While Angel de la Guardia has a refined yet explosive rock swagger, it is balanced by the meditation Perelandra and La Paz. You can order it using the main ordering page here (or use the button to the right on this page). Detailed information here. Links to MP3s here. (21 May 08).

Rusalnaia CD Out Now.
New psych-folk collaboration between Sharron Kraus and Ex-Reverie member Gillian Chadwick. Eight songs influenced in greater or lesser part by Mellow Candle, Trees and Jefferson Airplane and coming out like "gypsies in Bohemia, smoking opium and drinking ginger tea". Luminously Pagan: a soundtrack to Bergman's "The Virgin Spring" rather than "The Wicker Man". Available for mail order using the main ordering page here (or use the button to the right on this page). Detailed information here. Links to MP3s here. (23 Jan 08).

Christian Kiefer and Jefferson Pitcher CD Now Out.
Available now for early-bird mail order customers, "To All Dead Sailors" is a conceptual collaboration between Kiefer and Pitcher. It's a collection of songs, textures, and field recordings related to the sea, seafaring, death, and beauty, and connects to the song-based side of both artists work; exemplified by "Medicine Show" and "Welcome to Hard Times" on Extreme Records, and their split CD from 2002 "The Inexplicable Falling". You can order it using the main ordering page here (or use the button to the right on this page). Release notes can be found here. Links to MP3s can be found here. (24 Aug 07).
