Camera Lucida is our "further-underground" sub-label, and an umbrella for us to release limited,
special interest, "home-brew" releases. These
are the sort of releases that might have been on a
cassette label in the past, or as press/radio only
promotional items, but we want to get them out there as
nicely packaged CDs and CD-Rs, vinyl and lathe-cut polycarbonate
records.
We expect the main demand for these items to come to mail order over
the Internet, but they will also be available in very limited
quantities through CTD Ltd in the US, Shellshock in the UK, and
perhaps a few other distributors in Europe like Clear Spot and
Brainstorm. They will typically come and go in the blink of an eye, so
keep you eyes peeled for new additions.
Geraldine lathe-cut 7" in edition of 25. This track first appeared as an MP3 Singles Club release on our web site, and a handful were made in Dec 98 for Promos and Xmas gifts for the band, and for hard-core fans. Later released on the Green Pajamas compilation "Narcotic Kisses" (CAM036LP and CAM052CD). Not available.
A CD-R in edition of 100. In 1998, Minnesota's finest space/psych rockers took a different route to the usual "live in the studio" college radio special, instead compiling a one hour special of unreleased tracks, preview roughs from the sessions for "Birds of Appetite", and interview/ monologue material.

Geraldine lathe-cut 10". Not spillage from the "Mystic River Sound" CD, rather three fine instrumental things just begging to be put on a lathe-cut, thus hopefully achieving that much sought after "dodgy private pressing" sound. Basically trippin' practice space improv pieces.

This 12" vinyl single contains two massive mixes of previously unrecorded Abunai! apotheosis work "Two Brothers" (one supercharged folk-rock version and one expansive dub Version clocking in at over 15 minutes), as well as a live folk-punk-rock blaze through the traditional "Lord Hampton". The original incarnation of the band is no longer in existence so these may be the final Abunai! recording to be released, which makes us sad. (US$20.00 shipped anywhere)

Second CD from these Houston psychonauts, part of the lysergic triumvirate that rose from the ashes of The Mike Gunn (see also Dunlavy, Charalambides). Led by ex-Gunner John Kramer, Project Grimm ensure the spirit lives on with a 12 tracks that are both mightily metallic and incisively intelligent. Packaged in a glorious gatefold art sleeve.
